CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation
CenturyLink's vision is to improve lives, strengthen businesses and connect communities by delivering advanced technologies and solutions with honest and personal service. CenturyLink extends this vision through the CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to contributing to endeavors that improve the well-being and overall quality of life for people throughout CenturyLink's communities. Named after CenturyLink's founder Clarke M. Williams, the Foundation is endowed by CenturyLink to support community initiatives that encourage our employees to use their time, talents and resources to strengthen the communities in which they live and work.
The Foundation funds the following programs and initiatives:
Matching Time Grant Program
Employees who volunteer 40 or more hours in a six month period for a 501(c)(3) organization in good standing with the IRS can earn a $500 grant for that organization. Employees may earn two grants per year to support the agencies and causes about which they are passionate.
Employee Giving Campaign Match
Employees can support the causes and organizations that mean the most to them by donating through our annual nationwide giving campaign. Through payroll deduction and other methods, they can give to any valid 501(c)(3) to help strengthen their community and the Foundation will match their gifts with a donation to their local United Way.
Annual Backpack Buddies Food Drive
CenturyLink hosts an annual food drive to help fight hunger in our markets and raise awareness of backpack programs that provide meals to children over weekends and school breaks. The Foundation matches employee and community donations with a $1,000,000 donation to local food banks.Since the program began in 1999, this annual drive has resulted in more than 47 million pounds of food being donated in our markets.
