AWS re:Invent 2017 is slated to be bigger than ever – with more than 40,000 in-person attendees and more than 50,000 live-streaming viewers anticipated. It’s AWS’ largest global cloud conference – and it’s gearing up to be the focal point of the industry next week.

It’s a big week for CenturyLink, too. This is the fourth year in a row we, through the acquisition of Level 3, will provide private, dedicated network connectivity in support of re:Invent. In fact, we’re lighting the Las Vegas strip with CenturyLink Direct Connect to power the show. All keynotes, live streams, breakout sessions, hands-on labs, bootcamps, hackathons, workshops, certification exams and more will be delivered by CenturyLink® Cloud Connect Solutions. All five Las Vegas venues on the re:Invent campus this year, the equivalent of roughly 1.4 million square feet of event space, will be interconnected through CenturyLink.

Beyond the network itself, it’s digital transformation that is driving the story at re:Invent 2017. In the Kumo Theater and at the VMware booth, Dave Shacochis, CenturyLink vice president of Hybrid IT Product Management, will outline the struggles many enterprises have in IT collaboration and governance. Dave will share how three IT spheres of influence each play a role in the cloud and unless they are organized to see the same picture of an enterprise cloud from a development, operations and financial perspective, cloud governance will suffer.  Look for Dave to share strategies for how enterprises can overcome some of the most common collaboration challenges when building a world-class cloud management framework.
