CenturyLink recently closed the books on our participation at CA World 2015 in Las Vegas. The show did not disappoint, with an action packed agenda including keynotes, demos, breakout sessions and more – exploring hot topics ranging from DevOps to Security and Cloud. If you weren’t able to attend, here’s what you missed.
- Transformation at Hyper-Speed: In his keynote, CEO Mike Gregoire explored innovation cycles and how they’re rolling out faster than ever. Companies must leverage such processes as Agile Development to speed development cycles. By moving software development to the cloud, its creation becomes “actionable” – driving quick changes and iterations, while empowering new levels of innovation.
Merging software development and IT operations, DevOps builds a collaborative team management approach – making faster delivery of updates and quick problem resolution possible. CenturyLink VP of Product Management Richard Seroter led attendees through “A Week on the Life (of DevOps)” and discussed how to best align strategies and structure for success.
- Next Stop: Software-as-a-Service: Software was a dominant theme running across every presentation, as many CA applications are moving towards a SaaS or an On-Demand delivery Model. Four CA applications – CA Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), CA Release Automation, CA Unified Infrastructure Manager, and CA Service Virtualization – are currently available on CenturyLink Cloud for easy deployment and administration. By leveraging CenturyLink Cloud, customers experience seamless upgrades, unprecedented scalability and integration, and significantly lower costs.
- Cloud Has Arrived: There’s no avoiding it – the future is cloud. From public sector and financial services to educational institutions, each and every attendee is making cloud an integral part of their 2016 roadmaps. That’s because cloud enables IT staff who manage applications to use orchestration technology to speed time to market and easily document best practices.
This was underscored in the session by John Martin – CenturyLink Principal Architect of Platform Technology Services. The presentation stressed benefits of CenturyLink Cloud Blueprints, allowing enterprises to easily author and deploy cloud environments. The Blueprints discussion promoted how to most effectively build infrastructure agility when deploying CA applications in the cloud.
While CA World might be in the rear-view mirror, don’t let the lessons learned fade away. Now is the time for companies to align strategies while preparing for innovation and the digital transformation that lies ahead. Don’t risk being left behind. All bets are in – and CenturyLink is in your corner.
