Interop Las Vegas, the annual technology expo and conference featuring informative panels, educational demonstrations, networking opportunities, and a host of speakers, starts today and goes all week.
To help you ensure you get the most out of your time in Vegas, here’s a few experiences you won’t want to miss this year:
Cloud Connect Summit
The Cloud Connect Summit, on Monday and Tuesday, offers a deeper focus on some of the important issues business technology leaders face as they move more IT functions to the cloud.
The central theme for the summit is “10 Critical Cloud Decisions,” and it features talks for a range of topics, including:
● Cloud stack analysis and comparison
● IT-as-a-Service, Agile IT, and DevOps strategy
● Operational and policy in the cloud-enabled enterprise
One of the keynote speakers for the Cloud Connect Summit is Jared Wray, CTO for CenturyLink Cloud. In his “Human Cost of the Cloud” talk, he’ll explore best practices for organizations as they transition from cloud experimentation to cloud optimization.
An accompaniment to Interop is the InformationWeek Conference. This two-day event, Monday and Tuesday, is geared toward C-level and senior IT executives, and its focus is on the pain points of the changing digital business — and the innovations that can help. It’s also a great networking opportunity.
Up for discussion:
● How to avoid the mistakes others already have made
● How to cut through the hype about digital business and identify real opportunities
● How to team up with marketing, sales, customer service, and other departments on digital business initiatives
Michelle McKenna-Doyle, CIO of the NFL, is the noted speaker. She’ll discuss how her organization’s aggressive digital strategy makes a big difference for its customers — the teams, coaches, players, and fans.
The keynote speeches at Interop Vegas provide the chance to hear from some of the most innovative and respected people in the IT world. In addition to the individual talks, several speakers will take part in keynote panels on topics like SDN and BYOD.
One talk to look forward to is from Rebecca Jacoby, CIO and senior vice president at Cisco. Her address Wednesday, “The Internet of Everything: A CIO’s Point of View,” will take a look at the technology that’s ushering in a new era in business: the Internet of Things. What critical elements are needed for unlocking the business value available through the intelligent connections among people, process, data and things? She’ll let the audience know.
Just as important as the insight that keynote speakers share is the knowledge gained from those smaller face-to-face interactions with peers and other industry experts.
Before you even get to Interop Las Vegas, you can schedule in-person, on-site meetings with other attendees. Use the Interop Meeting Planner tool to make direct connections that could lead to new partnerships, deals, or opportunities.
A big part of Interop is the expo, held Tuesday through Thursday. You’ll get an up-close look at cutting-edge technology, as well as a chance to compare products and talk to the people who know most about them.
What innovations will be able to help you see competitive advantages? The exhibitor experts — including CenturyLink Technology Solutions, in booths 1021 and MR2277 — are ready to show you.
