Senior Director of Business Operations & Chief of Staff

With over twenty-seven years of financial operations management experience, Anthony Wellen is the Senior Director of Business Operations and Chief of Staff at CenturyLink and is responsible for a $500 million CenturyLink business unit serving Civilian, Advanced Programs and Defense sectors of the federal government. Wellen's team manages Program Control, FP&A, DCAA compliance, Business Analysis and Sales Operations.

Wellen joined CenturyLink as a Senior Finance Manager in August 1999. As part of the core group that launched the federal division, Wellen

  • established the initial set of financial controls over pre-sales case preparation and proposal pricing.
  • ensured compliance with CenturyLink Policies and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • implemented best-in-class policies to develop a disciplined Business Operations organization.

Prior to joining CenturyLink, Wellen specialized in financial and project management with Verizon Communications (formerly Bell Atlantic Corporation) in Washington, DC assigned to high profile projects throughout the United States and Western Europe.

Wellen holds a Masters Certificate in Government Contracting from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland.
