Forwarding calls (VVX 300/400 series)

Will you be working in a conference room and still want to answer your calls? Are you going to be away from the office and need your calls to ring to another person or your mobile device? Call forwarding allows you to do this.

Forwarding calls while the phone is ringing

If your phone is ringing and you want to direct the call to someone else, you can redirect the call without first speaking to the caller.

  1. While the phone is ringing, press the Forward soft key.

  2. Enter the number you want to forward the call to.

  3. Press the Forward soft key.

Forwarding all calls to another number/person

You can set up your phone to forward all calls to another number, even if the Do Not Disturb feature is enabled. Call forwarding is not available on shared lines.

  1. Press the Home button.

  2. Navigate to Forward and press the Select key.
  1. If your phone has multiple lines, select the line you want to forward.

  2. Select the forwarding criteria from the Forwarding Type screen:

    • Always: to forward all incoming calls.

    • No Answer: to forward all unanswered incoming calls. If you select this option, you must specify the number of rings. (We recommend using 2.)

    • Busy: to forward calls that arrive while you’re already in a call.

  3. Enter the number you want to forward calls to, then press the Enable soft key.
The forwarding number displays in the status bar at the top of the phone screen. If the phone is idle, the forwarding icon also appears next to the affected phone line.

Disabling call forwarding

When you no longer need to forward your calls, you must disable the call forwarding to resume normal calling.

  1. Press the Home button.

  2. Navigate to Forward and press the Select key.

  3. If your phone has multiple lines, select the line for which you wish to disable forwarding.

  4. Select the forwarding criteria from the Forwarding Type screen.

  5. Press the Disable soft key.

Diverting calls from a contact to another telephone number

Another form of forwarding calls, you can divert calls from an individual in your contact directory to another telephone number. (In other words, you can forward calls on behalf of one of your contacts.)

  1. Press the Home button and select Directories.

  2. Select Contact Directory using the up and down navigation arrows (if necessary) and the Select soft button.

  3. Select a contact using the up and down navigation keys and the Select key.

  4. Press the Edit soft key.

  5. Use the up and down navigation keys to select Divert Contact.

  6. Enter the number your contact’s calls should be forwarded to.

  7. Use the up and down navigation keys to select Auto Divert.

  8. Use the up and down navigation keys to select Enabled.

  9. Press Save.

To remove a diversion, follow the steps above, but delete the telephone number the contact is diverted to and you change Auto Divert to Disabled.
