How to enroll in AutoPay

We're glad you're interested in signing up for AutoPay. It really is a huge convenience and a great way to assure your bill is always paid on time.

Enrolling is simple and quick. You can go online to submit your info, or you can mail us a paper form. 

What you need

Before you start, be sure you have your payment information (e.g., bank account, credit card) and CenturyLink account number (if you plan to enroll using the paper form) handy.

Since you don't have to wait on the postal service, completing your enrollment online is the quickest way to enroll. Plus, since your account information is stored in My Account, there's no need for you to enter it. It's simply there, ready and waiting.

Note: If you've forgotten your My Account username or password, you can retrieve/reset it. If you haven't already created a My Account username and password, it only takes a few minutes to do that, and you can sign up for AutoPay at the same time.

Mail in a paper form

We realize many people still appreciate being able to send important documents via the mail. If you're one of those folks, we've got what you need. 

In fact, we have two options. Choose the one that works best for you:

  1. Complete the AutoPay enrollment form. Download a copy of the form, fill in the blanks and mail it to us. (You'll need to provide your CenturyLink account number. If you've forgotten -- or simply don't know -- your CenturyLink account number, there are a few places you can find it.)
  2. Complete the form on the back of your remittance slip. Get a copy of your bill. On the back of the first page, you'll find an AutoPay Authorization section. Provide the requested information and mail it in with your payment.

When it takes affect

AutoPay can take 1 to 2 billing cycles to become effective, but in reality, it'll probably kick in a lot sooner. The timing depends on a few things including when you sign up. For instance, if you sign up on 5/2 and your bill date is 4/28, AutoPay won't be effective until at least 5/28. Of course, if you sign up on 5/2 and your bill date is 5/3, it will be active much sooner.

Regardless, you'll know it's working when you see a message on your bill saying something like, Thank you for using our automatic payment system or Thank you for using AutoPay. Until then, continue paying your bill as you've been doing (e.g., by mail, online, in person).
