Setup or edit your email on iOS 7,8

These settings work for the following domains: centurylink.net, q.com, elpasotel.net, embarqmail.com, centurytel.net, cswnet.com, clds.net, coastalnow.net, cochill.net, emadisonriver.com, emadisonriver.net, gallatinriver.net, grics.net, gulftel.com, madisonriver.biz, mebtel.net, qwest.net

Reminder: You must create your email address before you can set it up on your device.

Setup your email on iOS 7,8
  1. To set-up a new email account select "Settings" from the home screen. 
  1. Scroll down and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". 
  1. Select "Add Account."
  1. Select "Other."
  1. Select "Add Mail Account."
  1. Now enter a "Name", "Email" and "Password". Then select "Next".
  1. The mail program will try to setup your account automatically. You have sucessfully setup your mail.
     
    If you get an error, continue to the next step. 
  1. If you get an error, select "OK".
  1. Select the "POP" tab.
  1. Make sure you've entered the correct Email, User Name (Incoming/Outgong) and Host Name.

Incoming Mail Server:

  • Host Name: mail.centurylink.net
  • User Name: Full Email Address
  • Password: Password

Outgoing Mail Server:

  • Host Name: smtp.centurylink.net
  • User Name: Full Email Address
  • Password: Password
  1. Select "Save" to complete the setup.
  1. From the home screen, select "Mail" to check your email.

Want to go back to the setup?

  1. To edit an email account select "Settings" from the home screen. 
  1. Scroll down and select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". 
  1. Select the account you want to edit.
  1. Make sure you have entered the correct:
    -Email: Full Email Address
    -Host Name: mail.centurylink.net
    -User Name: Full Email Address
    -Password: Re-enter your password
    -Select "SMTP"
  1. Select the Primary Server "smtp.centurylink.net". 
  1. Under outgoing mail server, verify the following:
    -Host Name: smtp.centurylink.net
    -User Name: Full Email Address
    -Password: Re-enter your password
    -Use SSL: ON
    -Authentication: Password
    -Server Port: 587
    -Select "Done".
  1. Select the description in the upper left hand corner (ex. Centurylink). 
  1. Select "Advanced". 
  1. Under incoming settings, verify the following:
    -Use SSL: ON
    -Authentication: Password
    -Server Port: 995
  1. Select the description in the upper left hand corner (ex. Centurylink). 
  1. Select "Done."
  1. From the home screen, select "Mail".
