Setup or edit your email in Outlook 2010

These settings work for the following domains: centurylink.net, q.com, elpasotel.net, embarqmail.com, centurytel.net, cswnet.com, clds.net, coastalnow.net, cochill.net, emadisonriver.com, emadisonriver.net, gallatinriver.net, grics.net, gulftel.com, madisonriver.biz, mebtel.net, qwest.net

Reminder: You must create your email address before you can set it up on your device.

Setup your email in Outlook 2010
  1. Select "File."
  1. Select "Account Settings."
  1. Select "Account Settings" again.
  1. Select "New."
  1. Select "Manual setup or additional server types".
  1. Select "Next."
  1. Select "Internet E-mail."
  1. Select the "Next" button. 
  1. Enter your name in the "Your Name" field and enter your email address in the "Email Address" field.
  1. Select POP3 from the "Account Type" drop-down menu.
  1. Enter pop.centurylink.net in the "Incoming mail server" field.
  1. Enter smtp.centurylink.net in the "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" field.
  1. Enter your Full Email Address in the "User Name" field.
  1. Enter your password in the "Password" field.
  1. Select the "More Settings..." button.
  1. Select the "Outgoing Server" tab. Verify the following information is selected:
    -My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
    -Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  1. Select the "Advanced" tab. 
    1. Enter 995 in the "Incoming server (POP3)" field.
    2. Check the box next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)."

  1. Continue entering the following information on the "Advanced Tab:" 
    1. Enter 587 in the "Outgoing Server (SMTP)" field.
    2. Select TLS from the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" drop-down menu.
    3. Check the box next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server."
    4. Select the "OK" button.
  1. Select the "Next" button.
  1. Select the "Finish" button.

Edit your email in Outlook 2010

Want to go back to the setup?

  1. Select "File."
  1. Select "Account Settings."
  1. Select "Account Settings" again.
  1. Select the email address you want to edit.
  1. Select "Change."
  1. Enter your name in the "Your Name" field and enter your email address in the "Email Address" field.
  1. Select POP3 from the "Account Type" drop-down menu.
  1. Enter pop.centurylink.net in the "Incoming mail server" field.
  1. Enter smtp.centurylink.net in the "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" field.
  1. Enter your Full Email Address in the "User Name" field.
  1. Re-enter your password in the "Password" field. You can test your password on the webmail server.
  1. Select the "More Settings..." button.
  1. Select the "Outgoing Server" tab. Verify the following information is selected:
    -My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
    -Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  1. Select the "Advanced" tab. 
    1. Enter 995 in the "Incoming server (POP3)" field.
    2. Check the box next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)."

  1. Continue entering the following information on the "Advanced Tab:"
