Setup or edit your email in Windows Live

These settings work for the following domains: centurylink.net, q.com, elpasotel.net, embarqmail.com, centurytel.net, cswnet.com, clds.net, coastalnow.net, cochill.net, emadisonriver.com, emadisonriver.net, gallatinriver.net, grics.net, gulftel.com, madisonriver.biz, mebtel.net, qwest.net

Reminder: You must create your email address before you can set it up on your device.

Setup your email in Windows Live
  1. Select "Accounts."
  1. Select "Email."
  1. Enter "Your Email Address" and "Your Password."
  1.  Enter "Your Name", select "Manually configure server settings" then select "Next."
  1. Enter the following for 'Incoming server information':
    -Server Type: POP3
    -Server address: pop.centurylink.net
    -Port: 995
    -Check "Requires a secure connection (SSL)"
    -Logon user name: Full Email Address
  1. Enter the following for 'Outgoing server information':
    -Server address: smtp.centurylink.net
    -Check "Requires authentication"
    -Port: 587
    -Select 'Next'
  1. Select "Finish."

Edit your email in Windows Live

Want to go back to the setup?

  1. To edit your email settings, right-click on your email account.
  1. Select "Properties."
  1. On the "General" tab verify "Your Email address".
  1. On the "Servers" tab verify the:
    -Incoming mail (POP3): pop.centurylink.net
    -Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.centurylink.net
    -E-mail username: Full Email Address
    -Password: Re-enter Your Password
    -My server requires authentication: Checked Box
  1. On the "Advanced" tab verify the:
    -Outgoing mail (SMTP): 587
    -This server requires a secure connection (SSL): unchecked
    -Incoming mail (POP3): 995
    -This server requires a secure connection (SSL): checked
    -Select "OK" to save your changes. Close down your email client and open it back up.
