Install a Z-Wave device with your Connected Home service

This information should help you pair your Z-Wave devices with your Connected Home service. Z-Wave is a wireless technology that lets smart devices talk to one another. Household products, like lights, door locks, and thermostats are made .smart. when Z-Wave connectivity is added inside the product.s design, giving them the capability to communicate and perform the desired function.

  1. Sign in to the Connected Home portal
  2. Select the SYSTEM tab.
  3. Click the MANAGE DEVICES button.

This window will allow you the option to add Z-Wave devices such as Wi-Fi extenders, light switches, door sensors, thermostats, and others.

Add Z-Wave Lamp Module

To add the Interlogix IS-ZQ-LW-1 or Smart Plug-in Dimmer Module PD300Z-2, insert the lamp module or smart plug-in into a wall outlet.

IMPORTANT: Plug the lamp module and smart plug-in directly into a wall outlet in the same room where the Cloud Hub is located. Do not use a surge protector or power strip to plug in these devices.

Follow these steps to finish connecting the Z-Wave Lamp Module:

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions and then press the CONTINUE button in the Add Z-Wave Devices window to allow the Cloud Hub to begin Z-Wave "learn mode."
  2. Click the ADD button and follow the above instructions for pairing a Z-Wave device. This applies only to new, never-enrolled Lamp Module or Smart Plug-In Dimmer.
  3. Press the OPERATE/PROGRAM button located on Module (refer to the Lamp Module or Smart Plug-in Dimmer manual). You may need to repeat pressing the OPERATE/PROGRAM button a few times until you see Cloud Hub detects successful enrollment of the device.
  4. Name your lamp or dimmer module once enrollment completes.
  5. Select the GO BACK button to exit the Manage Devices screen.

Add Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor

  1. Remove the back cover of the door/window sensor.
  2. Pull out the exposed plastic tab that was removed from the DSW battery compartment and check if the battery is installed correctly. The green LED indicator will be lit for one second.
  3. Press the CONTINUE button on the web portal to allow the Cloud Hub to begin Z-Wave "learn mode."
  4. Click the ADD button and follow the above instructions for pairing a Z-Wave device. This applies only to new, never-enrolled door/window sensors.
  5. Press the Tamper switch located inside the door/window sensor (refer to the Door/Window sensor manual). You may need to press the tamper switch a few times until you see that the Cloud Hub detects successful enrollment of the device.
  6. Name your door/window sensor once enrollment completes.
  7. Select the GO BACK button to exit the Manage Devices screen.

Add GC-TBZ48 Z-Wave Programmable Thermostat

  1. Press any button to take the thermostat out of sleep mode.
  2. Press and hold the FAN button for five seconds. The setup will be displayed in the status line.
  3. Use the UP/DOWN buttons and scroll to "Z-Wave" and press SELECT.
  4. Press the CONTINUE button on the web portal to allow the Cloud Hub to begin Z-Wave "learn mode."
  5. Click the ADD button and follow the above instructions for pairing a Z-Wave device. This applies only to new, never-enrolled GC-TBZ48 Z-Wave Programmable Thermostats.
  6. Select the YES button next to the GC-TBZ48 Thermostat selection on the Z-Wave installation screen to begin the enrollment.
  7. Press SELECT (mode button) on the GC-TBZX48 Thermostat to complete the enrollment.
  8. Name your thermostat once enrollment completes.
  9. Select the GO BACK button to exit the Manage Devices screen.

Add Yale Z-Wave Door Lock

  1. Verify that the Yale Z-Wave Door Lock is assembled in the door and a fresh batter is inserted coorectly.
  2. Press the CONTINUE button on the web portal to allow the Cloud Hub to begin Z-Wave "learn mode."
  3. Click the ADD button and follow the above instructions for pairing a Z-Wave device. This applies only to new, never-enrolled Yale Z-Wave Door Lock devices.
  4. Enter the 4-8 digit Master PIN followed by the "#" key on the Yale Door touch screen or push button.
  5. Press SEVEN followed by the "#" key.
  6. Press ONE followed by the "#" key to include the door lock.
  7. Name your door lock once enrollment completes.
  8. Select the GO BACK button to exit the Manage Devices screen.

Reset Previously Paired Devices

  1. Remove the back cover of the door/window sensor.
  2. Ensure the battery is installed correctly.
  3. Click RESET (located on the bottom of the Manage Devices screen.
  4. Press the Tamper switch located inside the door/window sensor (refer to the door/window sensor manual).
  5. Once the reset is complete, the Z-Wave device is available to be installed as a new device.
  6. Optimize your Z-Wave mesh network, run the Z-Wave Refresh mesh only when Z-Wave devices are positioned in their final location. Z-Wave devices cannot be edited until the mesh refresh is complete

Remove a Z-Wave Door/Window Sensor

  1. Select the device that you wish to remove, click REMOVE, and confirm the removal.
  2. Select the GO BACK button to exit the Manage Devices screen.
