Setting up your CenturyLink email

To enjoy all the benefits of your CenturyLink High-Speed Internet service, be sure to set up your CenturyLink email account. This short video provides step-by-step instructions for what you need to do -- explaining how to set it up, and pointing out popular features you might not know you have.

If you prefer not to watch the video, follow these steps instead to set up your customized CenturyLink email address and personal account.

Setting up your email address

There are two ways you can set up your email address. You can either set it up when you install your service, or if that's not convenient, you can set it up later -- at a time that works better for you. Here are the step-by-step instructions for both options. 

Option 1: When you install your service

When you install your new CenturyLink High-Speed Internet service, you're prompted to create a login for your CenturyLink home page. When you see this prompt, do the following:

  1. Select "I want to create a new account as my login to my CenturyLink home page," and click [Next].

  2. Enter what you want to use for your login/new email address, and create a password.

  3. Choose a secret question (and corresponding answer). Click [Next].

Congrats! You've set up your CenturyLink email address.

Option 2: At a time that fits your schedule

If you didn't set up your email when your service was installed, you can create anytime you want -- like right now. (Note: You'll need account information from your Welcome letter or your bill so be sure to have one of those handy before you start.)

  1. Go to

  2. Click the green [Email] button on the top right side of the page.

  3. Click the green [Create Account] button.

From here, simply follow the prompts to choose your login/email address, password and secret question. Then, voila, you have your very own CenturyLink email address.

Check your email and explore your home page

Now, your email is setup, and you can check your email anytime.

  1. Go directly to your home page.

  2. Click the green [Email] button (top right side of the page).

  3. Enter your username and password.

  4. Click the [Log In] button to view your email.

Your service gets you access to 10 additional customizable email addresses that you can use or share with members of your household. You can also set up your CenturyLink email to work with Outlook, Windows Live, Thunderbird and other popular email programs.
