Using the PTAP map filters

You can filter the map view to quickly sort your endpoints (CEs). Use PTAP's map filters to quickly sort your customer endpoints (CEs). When you click Map Filter, a pop-up window appears. You can do a general search based on service type, or you can get granular and search for a specific device.

To use the PTAP map filter, do the following:

  1. Click the Reports tab, then click the Network Reports subtab, then click Network Performance.

Control Center opens a separate window for CenturyLink PTAP.
  1. Click Map Filters (just above the map itself).

  2. Use the window that appears to filter the points appearing on the map:

    • To show only particular types of service, select (or clear) the checkboxes in the Services section.

    • To filter by network (UNI) or EVC (ethernet virtual circuit), select an option from the drop-down list. (To remove the filter, select All from the list.)

    • To filter the view to show endpoints (CEs) in a particular state, select the an option from the State drop-down list.

    • To search for a particular device, use the drop-down list to select the way you'd like to search for the device (e.g., Service ID Starts With or Port Alias Contains), and then fill in the information for the device. (You need to type at least 3 characters for the search to start working.)

  3. When you're done filtering the map, click the red X in the upper-right corner of the pop-up.

Did you know? If you don't like your search results and want to go back to where you started, you can simply refresh the page. (There are lots of ways to refresh a web page. Probably the most universal is to re-enter it in the address bar.)

You might also want to know how to identify your top hitters or view summary metrics for a specific point in time. If you're not already doing it, learn how to create threshold rules so you can be alerted to changes in your network.
