Product Details

Network Interface Device (NID) is a telecommunications demarcation unit that provides induced voltage power surge protection and physical termination points for CenturyLink network loop facilities and end-user Customer Owned Premises Wiring (COPW) as required by Article 800 of the National Electric Code (NEC).

The NID is available in single and multiple line configurations and is equipped with a standard RJ-11C jack that allows the customer to perform test isolation diagnostic of the customer owned premises wiring.

The NID is either already in place or can be installed at your customer's premises, reducing the cost of deploying and maintaining your own device. The Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) shall, at it's own expense, provide a NID to connect its own loops to its end-user customer's inside wiring. The CLEC may use the end-user side of the CenturyLink NID to access the inside wire.

Business Applications

Network Interface Devices (NIDs) form CenturyLink maintain connectivity between your end-user customer's inside wiring and the local loop in order to provide them with voice and data services.
