Metro Ethernet

  • Metro Ethernet Service (Switched Ethernet) is a flexible, full-duplex data transport service that consists of:
    • A shared, fully meshed metropolitan network
    • Physical ports connecting customer locations served over fiber or copper
    • Logical Ethernet Virtual Connections (EVCs)
    • Native Ethernet protocol to transport customer’s Ethernet Frames
  • EVCs are offered in two configurations:
    • Point-to-point
    • Multi-point
  • The Service transmission speed depends on the Ethernet Port size selected and the amount of Bandwidth ordered.
  • Metro Ethernet addresses high bandwidth, point-to-point and multi-point data networking needs.
