Updating a remote DID phone number for your SIP trunk service

You can update the route plan for a remote DID phone number—including adding a description for your DIDs so you can remember them more easily. If you need to modify large blocks of numbers, you can bulk upload your changes and save time.

To update a route plan:

  1. Click the Products & Services tile, then click the Inventory subtile.

    Control Center displays a list of all services assigned to the accounts under your enterprise ID. If you have more than ten services, you can view the rest of your services by clicking one of the green linked Show numbers at the top of the list or you can click the green down arrow at the bottom of the list to add ten services at a time to the view.
  1. Search for the service with the DID phone number you want to edit the route plan for in one of these ways:

    • Sort your services using the Sort by… list (e.g., Service Type). You can toggle between descending and ascending order using the arrow to the right of the Sort by… list.

    • Filter your services by selecting an option from the View All (Default) list.

    • Search for the service (by service type, account, etc.) using the Search by… field and search box. (To search using multiple search criteria, click Advanced Search, then fill in your search criteria and click Apply Search Filters. When you're done, click Close Advanced Search.)

  2. When you find the service, click the green arrow on the right of the line for the service, then click the DID Telephone Number Management section.
  1. Select the checkbox next to the phone number(s) you want to edit the route plan for.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To edit the route plan for a single phone number (or to make changes to multiple phone numbers one at a time), select Edit DID(s) Individually from the Select Action list, then click Go.

    • To edit the route plan for multiple phone numbers at once, select Modify Multiple DID(s) from the Select Action list, then click Go.
  1. Make your changes to the route plan(s). If you want to add a description, fill in the Description field.

  2. Click Update.

  3. Click the X (in the upper-right corner of the pop-up window).

    Your changes are effective immediately.

Making bulk changes to DID phone numbers

  1. Click the Products & Services tile, then click the Inventory subtile.

  1. Search for the service with the DID phone numbers you want to change in one of these ways:

  2. When you find the service, click the green arrow on the right of the line for the service, then click the DID Telephone Number Management section.
  1. Click the checkbox next to the numbers you want to modify.

  2. From the Select Action list, select Download to Bulk Load.xls, then click Go.

    You'll receive an email with a link for you to open and save an Excel spreadsheet. The second tab of the spreadsheet includes instructions for how to complete your bulk upload. (You can assign users, modify allowed call types, or reassign routes on all selected numbers.) Also, be sure to save a copy of your work to your computer before you upload the document.

  3. In the DID Telephone Number Management section for the service, select Bulk Upload from the Select Action list, then click Go.

  4. Click the file you want to upload.

  5. You'll receive a confirmation email.

Did you know? To manage DID trunk numbers (and your SIP trunk service), you need to have the appropriate permissions. If you don't have them, contact your system administrator.
