Editing a node description in Bill Analyst

After you create a hierarchy and add nodes to it, you can update node descriptions to reflect changes in your organization. Use the Tree Builder tool to edit a node description—descriptive name (department or cost center) and general ledger (GL) code. (You can't change nodes on a hierarchy built by someone else.)

Remember to make your hierarchy the active hierarchy when you open Bill Analyst.

To edit a node description:

  1. Click the Reports tab, then click the Billing Reports subtab. 
  1. Click Bill Analyzer.

Control Center opens Bill Analyst in a separate window.

  1. Click the Setup tab.
  1. In the Hierarchies box, click Tree Builder. If you haven't created a hierarchy, you won't see the Tree Builder option. You must create a hierarchy and make it active before you can add nodes to it.
  1. Select the node you want to change, click Edit Descriptions.
  1. Edit the descriptions and GL codes.
  1. Click Save.
