Running a performance metrics circuit test

If you're having trouble with a circuit, you can run a performance metrics (PM) test to diagnose the problem. The PM test is non-intrusive and can be done in less than one minute. This is the first type of testing you'll want to do to diagnose a problem with a circuit. Not all services are eligible for self-testing. If you select a circuit that is not eligible, you will be given the option to create a repair ticket.

To run a performance metrics circuit test:

  1. Click the Service Mgmt tab (service management), then click the Circuit Test  subtab. 

Control Center displays all circuit tests run in the last 90 days. By default, tests are organized by the date the request was created (starting with the newest). The Status column shows the status for each test.

  1. Click Run New Circuit Test.
  1. To run the test, you'll need the product/service ID for the service you want tested. Do one of the following:

    • If you know the product or service ID, type it into the Product/Service ID field.

    • If you don't know the product or service ID, use the lists to search for the product or service needing updates.

      After you identify the product, the page expands.
  1. Click Select for the product you want to run a test on.
  1. Do one of the following:

    • To return to the list of circuit tests, click Circuit Testing Summary.

    • To test another circuit, click Run Another Circuit Test.
