Parking a call on your phone (VVX 300/400 series)

Call park and retrieve are very useful, but also are often misunderstood features. Here are two examples of the perfect time to park a call:

  • Example 1: You are in a conference room and need to continue your call. You can't transfer to your phone because the call will go to voicemail before you can get back to your desk to answer it.

  • Example 2: A receptionist or coworker receives a call for you and sees you walk by. If they transfer the call to your phone, the call will likely go to voicemail before you get to your desk to answer it.

When a call is parked, it is remains in the cloud until it is retrieved from any device within your office. If the call is not retrieved within a the time limit set by your company administrator, it will ring back to the device that it was parked from.

  1. With a call in progress, press the Park soft key. (You may need to press the More soft key to access the Park soft key.)
  1. Do one of the following:

-- To park the call on a different extension, enter that extension when prompted.

-- To park the call on the current extension, press the # key.

  2. The call will be sent to the cloud and can be retrieved from another device, or will ring back to the device they were parked on if not answered within the time limit set by your company administrator.
