The transfer feature allows you to send active calls to individuals within your office, or to locations outside of your office such as mobile phones. Transfers can be done as either consultative or blind. One option allows you to speak to the party you are transferring to (consultative), the other does not allow you to announce the call (blind).
This method of transferring allows you to speak to the party you are transferring to before releasing the call. If the party agrees to accept the transfer, you can complete the transfer. If the party chooses not to accept the call, you can cancel the transfer and return to the caller.
Both handset models provide you with access to a Transfer soft key and a Transfer button. The Transfer soft key is located at the bottom of your display; the Transfer button is located to the left of your keypad. Both transfer options work the same (so you can use either button).
When performing a blind transfer you cannot announce your call. The party you are transferring to will either answer or the caller will go to voicemail.
Did you know? Your default transfer type is determined by your company administrator. There are settings on your device that allow you to change your default transfer setting should you choose. Most handsets are programmed with consultative as the default transfer type.
