Using the function buttons on your phone (VVX 300/400 series)

Headset button

Once you've connected your headset to your phone, you can make or receive calls using your headset. If you use your headset as your primary speaking device, you can turn on headset memory so your headset is automatically used when you use your phone.

  1. To answer an incoming call, press the Headset button.

The Headset button glows solid green to let you know that your headset is active.

  2. To disconnect a call, while using your headset, press the Headset button again.

Speakerphone button

All VVX 300/400 series phones have speaker capabilities.

  1. To answer an incoming call, press the Speakerphone button.

The Speakerphone button glows solid green to let you know that your speakerphone is on.

  2. To disconnect a call while using speakerphone, press the Speakerphone button again.

Did you know? If you begin your call on the handset, you can move that call to the headset or speakerphone by pressing the Headset or Speakerphone button, and then return the handset to the cradle. To move a call from headset to speakerphone, simply lift the handset.

Mute button

On the VVX 300/400 series phones, microphones are very sensitive. If you need to speak off line, we recommend that you mute your phone so you're not heard by other people on the call.

  1. While on an active call, press the Mute button.

The Mute button glows red to let you know that your phone is muted.

  2. Press the Mute button again to unmute yourself and resume your phone call.

Did you know? When you mute your phone, you will continue to hear the other people on the call, but the other people will not hear you.

Volume control

You can adjust volume levels by pressing the + or on the volume control button. Use the volume control button (located below the keypad) to control volume levels for the following:

  • Incoming call ring volume: press the + or button while your phone is idle or ringing.

  • Handset volume: press the + or button while your handset is engaged in a call, or by lifting the handset while your phone is idle.

  • Speakerphone volume: press the + or button while your handsfree is engaged on a call, or by pressing the Speakerphone button while your phone is idle.

  • Headset volume: press the + or button while your headset is engaged in a call, or by pressing the Headset button while your phone is idle.

Did you know? When you increase or decrease the volume, it will remain at that setting until you choose to change it again (or until your phone reboots). If your phone reboots, all volume settings return to their default levels.
