Having internet issues? We know how frustrating that can be. Though we do everything we can to make CenturyLink services reliable, outages and other problems do still happen. When you need help with your internet or phone services, we’re proud to offer several self-help tools designed to get you back online. These tools are great options for troubleshooting internet and phone issues, especially when you don’t have time to pick up the phone and talk to a support specialist. 

Internet Speed Test

Need to check your speed? Run an internet speed test with our free tool. It takes about 30 seconds and checks both download and upload speeds. Our test also provides statistics about jitter and ping to help diagnose any issues in case your internet isn't running as quickly as it should. There are a lot of variables that can impact the results of an internet speed test, including whether you’re connected to the internet via WiFi or Ethernet cable, how far away from the modem you are, and how many people are currently connected to your WiFi network. To get an accurate picture of internet speed, you should run the test a few times, and be sure you’re not connected to a VPN. You should also test your internet speed from one device, preferably connected directly to the modem by Ethernet. 

Service Troubleshooter

The Service Troubleshooter is a robust tool that runs diagnostic tests on your CenturyLink line to determine if there are any problems with your phone or internet service. To start, it checks for any known outages in your area, or detects if the problem is specific to your service, such as an inactive account or an existing repair ticket associated with your account. If the tool can’t diagnose your problem, it will direct you to the right troubleshooting resources and self-help articles depending on the nature of your issue. Finally, if further help is needed, it will allow you to chat with an agent on the spot or schedule a new repair request. Before you get started, make sure you know your account number (or billing phone number) and service zip code. The tool runs several tests and can automatically fix a number of problems with your account, so it’s a great place to start if you’re having issues with your service. 

Service Appointment Manager

With the Service Appointment Manager, you gain control of any scheduled service. Reschedule or cancel service appointments to fit your calendar. Have you recently signed up or changed your service with us? You can view your appointment time window for a technician install. On the day of your appointment, check to see the approximate location of your technician. Finally, view your appointment history for any closed or cancelled tickets. Your appointment history is also a great way to track any issues you have had in the past, which can be very helpful if you are seeing the same issue repeatedly. 

Payment Arrangements

If you find yourself in a financial pinch unexpectedly or need extra time to pay your bill, you can use Payment Arrangements to break up your payments into more manageable amounts and schedule them automatically. There are four options to suit your needs and make it easier to make your payments, depending on your cash flow. Whether you choose to pay a past due amount, break up payments, or make an early payment, the Payment Arrangements tool helps you gain some extra time to pay your bill.

Quick Bill Pay

If you need to pay a bill on the fly, or don’t have an online account set up yet, you can use Quick Bill Pay. Just enter your account number and zip code and pay with a credit card or bank information. It’s quick and easy, doesn't require a password, and is secure. Note that to use saved payment information, you need to log in to your account at My CenturyLink using your username and password, then pay using the Bill Pay tool there. 

AutoPay

Are you tired of logging on to CenturyLink’s website every month to pay your bill? You can sign up for AutoPay at My CenturyLink to automatically pay your bill every month. This is a simple and hassle-free process that helps you check one more monthly to-do off your list.
