5 GHz basic wireless setup for your Actiontec C2300A modem

5 GHz basic wireless setup allows you to enable/disable the wireless radio, and change the Network Name (SSID). You can view the current security type, key/Passphrase, and WPS PIN for the modem.
5 GHz Wireless Step 1-5

1.  Connect a device, such as a computer or tablet, directly to your modem using the Ethernet cable (usually yellow).

2.  Open a web browser and type http://192.168.0.1 into the web address field.

3.  Log in to your modem's settings (Modem GUI) using the Administrator Username and Password, then select "Apply." Unless you have changed the default settings, you can find the login information on the modem's sticker.

4.  Select "Wireless Setup."

5.  Select "5 GHz" in the left sidebar.

  1. Select "Enable" for the Wireless Radio. You can also change the network name and view more details about your wireless connection.
  1. Select "Apply" to save any changes.
  1. Next, we are going to make sure the modem is Broadcasting the network (SSID). Select "SSID Setup."
  1. Select the SSID you want to change.
  1. Select "Broadcast SSID" or "Enable SSID" to turn it on.
  1. Select "Apply" to save your changes.
  1. The 5 GHz wireless light on the modem will turn "green" when the radio is enabled. You can connect 5 GHz Wi-Fi devices to your modem.
