Configure DHCP Settings on your Calix C844G modem

DHCP Settings allow you to edit the DHCP settings that define the LAN addressing parameters for your modem to allocate IP addresses to LAN devices.

CenturyLink recommends that you keep the default settings for the LAN IP Address. Changes to this feature will reset some of the other settings on the modem. Do not proceed unless you understand the technical impacts of changing this feature. The default IP addressing values are:
  • DHCP Server: Enable
  • Modem IP Address:
  • Beginning DHCP Server Address:
  • Ending DHCP Server Address:
  • Subnet mask:
  1. Connect a device directly to your modem.
  1. Open a web browser and go to
  1. Login to your modem by entering the Admin Username and Admin Password, then select "Apply." If your modem is using the default settings, this information is located on the modem sticker.

  1. Select "Advanced Setup."
  1. Select "DHCP Settings".
  1. From here you can view or edit the "DHCP Settings".
  2. If the wireless device Host Name has special characters in it and unable to connect wirelessly to the modem, click the "Allow Special Characters" radio button under "Set the DHCP name special character state". 
  3. Click "Apply" to save the new settings.
