How to connect your PS4 to WiFi

Want to connect your PS4 to your WiFi network? Let’s get started! The video below provides step-by-step instructions on how to connect your PlayStation to your WiFi network. Don’t worry about taking notes though. We have detailed instructions below to walk you through the entire process.

How to connect your PS4 to WiFi

  1. Navigate to your system settings.
  1. Select "Network."
  1. Select "Set Up Internet Connection."
  1. Select "Use WiFi."
  1. Select "Easy."
  1. Select your WiFi network from the list of wireless connections. If you do not know your network name (also called SSID), you can find it on the bottom of your modem.
  1. Enter your WiFi network’s password and select "Ok." If you have not updated your network’s password, it is also called the "Passphrase" and can be found on the bottom of your modem.

If your password is not working you can look up the settings manually.

  1. Select, "Do Not Use" when you are asked if you would like to use a Proxy Server.
  1. Select "Test Internet Connection."
  1. After the test is complete, you should reach a screen that details additional information about your network. If this fails, try connecting to your modem or router directly to your PS4 with an Ethernet cable.

It’s that easy! If you’re having issues connecting your PS4 to WiFi, try visiting the official PlayStation site for troubleshooting tips.
