Turning voicemail alerts on for a user

As an administrator, you can turn on alerts to let users know when they have a voicemail message; you can choose email or text alerts. If you choose email, you can also include an audio file of the message.

Turn email alerts on

You can set up a user to receive an email alert when they have new voicemail message. The caller's number is put in the subject line if a number is provided.
To turn email alerts on:
  1. Click the Users tab.
  1. For the user you want to edit information for, click Actions.
  1. Select Edit
  1. Click the Voicemail tab.
  1. Slide the Notify me of any new voicemail messages toggle to the right.
  1. Select the Via email radio button, then type the user's email address.
  1. In the Additional Voicemail Settings section, select the Email a copy of message to checkbox.
  1. In the Email address list, type the user's email address.
  1. Click Save.
Note: If a user listens to a message by clicking the WAV file in their email, they must dial into their voicemail box to delete the played messages. If this is not done, the mailbox will fill up.

Turn text alerts on

You can set up a user to receive a text to alert them of a new voicemail message.
To turn text alerts on:
  1. For the user you want to edit information for, click Actions.
  1. Select Edit
  1. Click the Voicemail tab.
  1. Slide the Notify me of any new voicemail messages toggle to the right.
  1. Click the Via text radio button, then type the user's mobile number. 
  1. From the Select Provider list, select the user's mobile phone carrier.
  1. Click Save.
Note:  You can also turn voicemail alerts on from the numbers tab.
