Product Details

Enhanced Extended Link (EEL) from CenturyLink is a combination of dedicated, unbundled network elements (UNEs) such as interoffice transport, multiplexing (where required), and loops, which can be installed (UNEs) such as interoffice transport, multiplexing (where required), and loops, which can be installed by CenturyLink at the Competitive Local Exchange Carrier's (CLEC's) request.

Use the Local Service Request (LSR) for Interoffice Transport with non-muxed Interoffice Transport. Use the Local Service Request (LSR) for Interoffice Transport with multiplexing either by fax or the Internet using the Electronic Administration & Service Order Exchange (EASE).

CenturyLink agrees to provide EEL in locations where facilities and capacity are available for assignment in the same way that such facilities or capacity would be provided for Retail or Access services. CenturyLink offers trouble reporting through established mechanized processes and maintenance standards comparable with CenturyLink counterpart service in the retail world (e.g., designed circuits).

The EEL combinations must be used to provide a significant amount of Local Exchange Service. EEL combinations may not be used:

  • With any other CLEC service.
  • To cross LATA boundaries.
  • EEL's may not be available in offices deemed unimpaired by the FCC TRRO ruling.
  • As a substitute for Special Access unless a CLEC provides local service and qualifies as per the FCC.
  • To carry switched access.
