What's the difference between WSP and ILEC/CLEC?

          Transit Record Exchange Process

In order to understand the Record Exchange Processes, you must first be familiar with the difference between Wireless Service Providers and Wireline Service Providers.
  • Wireless Service Providers (WSP) are companies that provide service to PCS and cellular phone customers.

  • Wireline Service Providers (ILEC and CLEC) are companies that provide landline service to homes and businesses.

Currently, CenturyLink may provide transit records for Wireless and Wireline-originated calls that transit CenturyLink and terminate to a Wireline company.
