Caller ID with Privacy +™ - V8.0

History Log

Product Description

Caller ID with Privacy + uses the Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) platform to allow end-users to screen incoming Caller ID calls that are marked "Private" or "Unavailable."

End-users have the ability to:

  • Turn Caller ID with Privacy + On and Off.
  • Establish a Privileged Caller Code.

Calls that have name and number available display on Caller ID display units as usual.

Unidentified calls marked Private that unblock will display their name and telephone number on Caller ID display units.

A distinctive ring (short, short) will advise the Privacy + end-user of an audibly identified call.

  • Unidentified calls with a recorded name will display as "Privacy +" in the name field, and "000-000-0000" in the number field or no information in the number field, on Caller ID display units. The display may vary depending on the end-user's brand of Caller ID unit.

End-users subscribing to Caller ID with Privacy + have the option of accepting or rejecting the audibly identified calls:

  • If the call is rejected, the caller will be advised that the called party is not available and will be sent to voice mail or an answering service if the end-user has a messaging service.
  • The call cannot be sent to an answering machine.

If the end-user's telephone is not answered, the caller will be advised that the party could not be reached and to try again.

If the end-user has a messaging service, the call will be sent to a messaging service or an answering machine.

A caller from blocked (marked Private) or unknown/out of area hears an announcement indicating that the end-user does not accept unidentified calls.

Caller ID with Privacy + records unidentified caller's name and dials end-user's telephone number:

  • Distinctive ring provided (short, short).
  • Display Unit displays Privacy + message.
  • Call is answered and caller's name is provided.

If the call is accepted, then Press 1.

If the call is rejected, then Press 2.

If the call is rejected, the caller will be advised that the called party is not available:

  • The call will be sent to voice mail or an answering service if the end-user has a messaging service.
  • The call cannot be sent to an answering machine.

If the call is not answered, the caller is advised that the end-user could not be reached. If the end-user has messaging service or an answering machine, the caller will be given the option of leaving a message.

Subscribers to Privacy + can give the four digit Privileged Caller Code to family and friends who are unidentified callers (unknown or blocked).

Entering the code when the Privacy + message is heard will allow the caller to bypass the record or unblock function and ring directly on the end-users telephone.

The end-user will hear the distinctive short, short, long ring.

The Caller ID unit will display "Privileged Call" and "000-000-0000".
