Product Description

Call Waiting ID provides caller detail information of an incoming Call Waiting call using a Call Waiting ID Display Unit.

For Call Waiting ID to display incoming Call Waiting calls, the end-user must have:

  • Call Waiting ID
  • Caller ID
  • Call Waiting ID Display Unit
  • Call Waiting (Business Only)

Call Waiting ID does not require activation or deactivation codes.

The phone connected to the Call Waiting ID unit must be "off hook" to display the incoming Call Waiting call.

The end-user subscribing to Call Waiting ID will hear a high pitched tone when an incoming call is received.

If the end-user does not answer Call Waiting, the Call Waiting ID unit will still display the Call Waiting call information.

Availability

Call Waiting ID is available in 5ESS®, and DMS™-100 central office (CO) switch types where Caller ID is available and in some DMS-10 CO switch type.

  • With one-party service.

Call Waiting ID is not available in an Ericsson (AXE) CO switch type.

Compatibility & Restrictions

Feature/Service Rules/Restriction
Call Transfer Call Waiting ID is not available with Call Transfer in DMS10 or DMS-100 CO switch types.
Call Waiting Call Waiting (USOC: ESX) is not compatible with Call Waiting ID Residence (USOC: N2W).
Call Waiting ID Business Call Waiting ID Business (USOC: NWT) is not compatible with Call Waiting ID Residence (USOC: N2W)
Call Waiting ID Residence Call Waiting ID Residence (USOC: N2W) is not compatible with:
  • Call Waiting ID Business (USOC: NWT)
  • Call Waiting Centron I or Multiline Variety Package (USOC: MVPCW)
CCMS/Centrex/Centron Call Waiting ID is not available with CCMS/Centron 1, Centron or Centrex in DMS-10 or DMS-100 CO switch types.

Call Waiting ID may have a recurring and a nonrecurring charge based on state specific Tariffs/Catalogs/Price Lists.

Feature Detail (FID and Data Requirements)

Adding Call Waiting ID - Residence

This feature is ordered by including:

  • Feature Activity Type N and USOC N2W.
  • Feature Activity Type N and USOC NNK or NSD.

NOTE: If the end-user already has NNK or NSD on record, no action is required on that USOC.

Removing Call Waiting ID - Residence

This feature is removed by including:

  • Feature Activity Type D and USOC N2W.

Adding Call Waiting ID - Business

This feature is ordered by including:

  • Feature Activity Type N and USOC NWT.
  • Feature Activity type Type N and USOC NNK or NSD.
  • Feature Activity Type N and USOC ESX or 6SY

NOTE: If the end-user already has 6SY, ESX, NNK or NSD on records, no action is required on that USOC.

Removing Call Waiting ID - Business
This feature is removed by including:

  • Feature Activity Type D and USOC NWT
