Product Description

Listen Only Mailbox allows end-users the ability to prerecord announcements and/or informational messages that may be heard by incoming callers.

Listen Only Mailbox does not allow callers to leave messages.

Listen Only Mailbox can only be provided to an end-user that has a Business account.

If the end-user is using the Route To Other Number, the "0" must be selected before the announcement is over. If it is selected after the announcement is finished, it will not work. Additional information can be found in Route To Other Number.

The number of simultaneous calls a Listen Only mailbox could take is equal to the number of Trunks available in the wire center where the Listen Only mailbox resides. Additional information can be found in Business Voice Messaging Service - General Information.

The standard features applicable to Listen Only Mailbox are as follows:

  • Record an announcement up to 15 minutes in length. End-users do not need to use the entire fifteen-minute period.
  • To initialize the Listen Only Mailbox, dial the 10-digit mailbox number and press 7 once the announcement starts. A recorded tutorial will instruct the initial set up process.
  • Additional information on passwords, recording and reviewing a Listen Only Mailbox announcement can be found in the Listen Only Instruction Sheet.
  • Once the service is activated, the announcement can be changed by calling the Listen Only Mailbox Number, pressing 7 once the announcement starts, and following the instructions.
