ASR Switched Access

Course Description

This instructor-led course provides Interexchange Carriers an overview of the process for requesting Switched Access services from CenturyLink™. Students learn how to identify the difference between Switched and Private Line service. Ordering requirements and ASR form submission are also explained in detail.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this training course, you will be able to:

  • Describe Switched Access product, features and benefits
  • Define different Switched Access network configurations
  • Describe the process of ordering Switched Access Services from CenturyLink
  • Determine the required forms to submit a request
  • Identify the required fields on each form
  • Define the interval guidelines for Switched Access Services
  • Identify the following components when ordering Switched Access service:
    1. Entrance Facilities
    2. Direct Trunk Transport
    3. Trunks
  • Interpret Translation Questionnaire (TQ) fields
  • Identify the Carrier Identification Code (CIC) process

Prerequisites

Audience

The target audience for the training is primarily CLECs and External Customers, but the training is available to anyone that would like an overview of the subject. We believe this training will assist you in gaining a better understanding of the product and processes, and will allow you to be more effective in working with the CenturyLink Sales and Service Team.
