Description Of Change
Shared Loop is defined as making available the opportunity for a Data Local Exchange Carrier (DLEC) to offer qualified advanced data services (ADSL) on an existing Qwest end user’s analog voice grade service. The end user service considered candidates for Shared Loop are simple Business/Residential customers, either flat rate or measured (e.g. 1FR,1FB & 1MR)

In the central office, a loop carrying ADSL traffic is split by a device called a POTS Splitter. One end is connected to an ADSL modem for access to the internet; the other end is connected to the switch for voice communication. The DLEC will use the data portion of the loop while Qwest will maintain the voice portion of the loop.

The following forms will be used between Qwest and the Co-Provider for Shared Loop ordering purposes:

* LSR - Local Service Request

* EU - End User

* LS –Loop Service Request

* LSNP – Loop Service With Number Portability Request
