Additionally, Qwest will publish the worksheets in Microsoft Word format so that the CLECs can use the Track Changes functionality intrinsic to the application to navigate from change to change (rather than visually scanning from change to change). CLECs will also have greater functionality to search for words, phrases, etc. The current format the worksheets are published in is Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (Adobe .pdf).

Qwest believes that this new method will be of greater value to the CLECs than the current process. Instead of consulting two sources to identify the complete change (i.e., the change summary and the worksheet itself), the CLECs will now have a single place where all changes are highly visible.

Moreover, Qwest believes that this new process will allow for better perception of business rule changes from release to release by showing only the difference between the most recent published version of the Disclosure to the next iteration. Incremental changes will not show as separate line items in a change summary. Instead, all of the changes will be presented in one place.

The new Worksheets will also allow new products added with a release to be more readily visible. New products will be highlighted similar to any other change (i.e., colored).

Last, Qwest states that, since the implementation of SCR012104-01 "Change Presented in IMA EDI All EDI Summary

Disclosure" where Qwest incorporated the same kinds of "Track Changes" functionality suggested by this SCR, Qwest has received positive feedback that this formatting is helpful, beneficial, and time-saving for the CLECs. In its response to that SCR request, Qwest stated that:

The new design of the change summary makes it easier for CLECs to identify changes from iteration to iteration by using strikethrough, colored font to indicate deletions, and underlined, colored font to show additions. CLECs can perceive the changes much more readily now, as opposed to earlier versions where the CLEC had to "stare and compare."

Positive feedback from the CLECs indicates that this improvement matches their expected deliverable. Qwest estimates that the amount of time spent by CLECs in using the new version is a fraction of the time spent using the previous two column "change from" and "change to" versions. Implementation of this SCR should carry that concept forward and deliver a better vehicle for conveying change than the one currently in place. Qwest proposes to implement this change as early as release 18.0 of IMA EDI.

On July 29, 2005, Qwest will post planned updates to its Draft Technical Specifications for IMA EDI Disclosure Document for IMA 18.0 targeted for implementation on October 10, 2005. These will be posted to the Qwest Wholesale Document Review site, http://www.qwest.com/wholesale/cmp/review.html.

Summary of Change: The summary of changes is included in the Draft Technical Specifications. Please note that with the delivery of IMA EDI 18.0 Disclosure, Qwest no longer provides a separate change summary document, but instead provides the change summary inside the versions of the Developer Worksheets themselves. For details on the circumstances surrounding this change, please see Change Request SCR021505-01 at http://www.qwest.com/wholesale/cmp/changerequest.html.

For IMA EDI 18.0, Qwest is publishing two (2) versions of each of the worksheets: a.) a Microsoft Word version, and b.) an Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) version. Both versions contain identical information. Both highlight changes from IMA EDI 17.0 to IMA EDI 18.0 in colored font (additions/changes show as colored font; deletions show as colored strikethrough).

Customers will find value in the Microsoft Word version as they will have the ability to move from change-to-change using the MS Word "track changes" functionality. To do so, customers should activate the "Reviewing" toolbar in MS Word. To activate the toolbar, in Word, from the Menu bar, select "View," then "Toolbars," then "Reviewing." A new toolbar will appear (if it is not already active). Select "Final Showing Markup" from the drop down list. Then use the navigation buttons on the "Reviewing" toolbar (the arrows pointing left and right) to move from change to change.

Results and formatting may vary from machine to machine dependent upon individual settings. To provide for a consistent, unmodifiable version, Qwest will continue to publish the Adobe Acrobat versions in addition to the Word versions.

-- March 16, 2005 Systems CMP Meeting Discussion: Kyle Kirves-Qwest presented the CR and stated that this request is to eliminate the Disclosures Change Summary. Kyle stated that it would be published as a Word document, with track changes and strikethrough’s. Kyle stated that the Developer Work Sheet is combining with the Change Summary so all the information is contained in one place. Bonnie Johnson-Eschelon stated that she is all for redline. [Comment received from Eschelon: Eschelon stated that she is not an expert on developer worksheets but she is all for redline.] Kyle Kirves-Qwest stated that it would then look like the Change Summary, with the redline. Stephanie Prull-Eschelon asked if this would still look like a hi-level change. Stephanie stated that it is hard to go through all the pages in order to find the changes. Kyle Kirves- Qwest stated that all the changes will be in the Developer Worksheets and that is why he opted to publish in Word. Kyle stated that Word would allow track changes in order for those changes to be easily found. Sharon Van Meter-AT&T asked if this was a voteable candidate. Connie Winston-Qwest stated that it is a Process and Documentation request and is not voteable. Sharon Van Meter-AT&T said okay. Kyle Kirves-Qwest stated that this effort is targeted for the 18.0 timeframe. Jill Martain-Qwest stated that this CR would proceed, for implementation. Stephanie Prull-Eschelon asked if Qwest would be sending a draft of what this will look like. Peggy Esquibel Reed-Qwest stated that a draft of the document is in the distribution package, in attachment C behind the CR. Kyle Kirves-Qwest stated that the document would be in Word format, instead of a pdf file. Stephanie Prull-Eschelon said it’s great that it was included. Jill Martain-Qwest stated that this CR moves into Development status.

RE: SCR021505-01 Change to Developer Worksheet Change Summary (Appendix E) of Disclosure Documentation

Qwest has reviewed the information submitted as part of Change Request (SCR021505-01). Based upon the scope of this CR, Qwest is able to provide an estimated Level of Effort (LOE) of 20 to 50 hours for this Process & Documentation Change Request.

At the next Monthly Systems CMP Meeting, CMP participants will be given the opportunity to comment on this Change Request and provide additional clarifications. Any clarifications and/or modifications identified at that time will be incorporated into Qwest's further evaluation of this Change Request.
