Hi Dianne,

Here is the explanation you requested as to why Qwest voted 'No' to extend the IMA 19.0 Sunset Date.

XML was initially deployed October 16, 2006. Qwest extended the sunset date from April 16, 2006 (the standard "6 months after the next release deploys" date) to October 27, 2007 to allow for additional time for the CLECs to develop to the new interface specifications. We are scheduled to sunset 19.0 on October 27, 2007. This date was selected because it is 2 weeks prior to the deployment of IMA 22.0 on November 12, 2007 and is the last possible date that 19.0 can be available in Production. As outlined in the CMP Document, we only manage 3 releases in production at a time. 19.0 has to sunset before 22.0 can deploy (at that time 20.0, 21.0 and 22.0 will be live in Production). The two weeks is to allow for environment clean up, ensure all transactions have been moved to current release versions, etc.

Thanks,

Lynn Stecklein

Dianne Friend-Comcast stated that this exception CR is requesting an extension to the sunset date of Qwest’s EDI 19.0 release to 11/30/07. She said that Comcast wants to ensure enough time for development, testing and production turn-up to the new XML interface and needs additional time to achieve this goal. Mark Coyne-Qwest stated that Lynn Stecklein (Qwest) would conduct the vote. Lynn Stecklein-Qwest stated that a vote of ‘Yes’ will indicate a preference that the IMA EDI 19.0 sunset date be extended to 11/30/07 and a vote of ‘No’ will indicate a preference that Qwest not extend the sunset date of IMA EDI 19.0 from 10/27/07. Lynn said that quorum for this vote to be conducted is 5 and has been achieved. Comcast-Yes Covad -Yes Eschelon-Yes Integra-Yes XO Communications-Yes Verizon Business-Yes Lynn said that e-mail votes were received from Sprint with a vote of Yes, Qwest with a vote of No and Velocity abstained. Lynn stated that the vote had to be unanimous for this request to be granted. Lynn Stecklein-Qwest stated that this request was not granted with 7 ‘Yes’ votes, 1 ‘No’ vote and 0 Abstain votes. Dianne Friend-Comcast asked if Qwest could provide the reason they voted no. Mark Coyne-Qwest stated that XML was initially deployed October 16, 2006.
