How to check voice mail when you're not home

Sometimes you just can't wait until you get home to listen to your CenturyLink voice mail. No problem! There are 2 ways to check your messages when you're away from home.

Option 1: Call home and interrupt the greeting

Call your home phone number. Press 7 to interrupt the greeting, and then enter your password. Follow the prompts to listen to your messages.

Option 2: Call your retrieval number

Calling your retrieval number -- instead of your home phone number -- is a faster way to listen to your messages remotely. You are prompted immediately to enter your password and don't have to wait for your greeting to start.

If you've forgotten your retrieval number, call 1-800-669-7676 and follow the prompts to get it. Alternately, the number was included in the welcome letter you received when you signed up for voice mail service (in case you still have the letter stashed somewhere and can quickly grab it.

Retrieving messages remotely always requires a password

Any time you're checking voice mail from a phone line that is not your home line, you are required to enter your voice mail password or PIN.
