How to set up Connected Voice Professional

Connected Voice will only work with phones that are connected to your internet service. Any phones plugged into a standard phone jack will not work with Connected Voice.

The Connected Voice Polycom phone will automatically self-configure after it's connected to your CenturyLink internet service. All you need to do is plug in the phone and connect the cables in these four steps:

  1. Connect the handset to the phone base

  2. Connect the network cable
Plug the network cable into the network port on the bottom of the phone. Connect the other end of the cable to an active Ethernet port, either on the back of your modem or an Ethernet wall jack.

  3. Plug in the phone
Connect the power adapter cord to the base of the phone and plug it into a wall outlet. Look for the lights on the phone screen to to turn on.

  4. Self-configure
Now simply wait while your Connected Voice phone completes auto-setup. Once you hear a dial tone, it's ready to use.

Connected Voice will only work for phones that are directly connected to the Connected Voice adapter.

We recommend that you use cordless phones with your Connected Voice service. Connect the adapter to the cordless handset base station and distribute the remote handsets throughout your business as shown below.

Any phones that were connected to wall jacks will not work with your Connected Voice service.

Connect the adapter

The Connected Voice adapter will automatically self-configure after it's connected to your CenturyLink internet service. All you need to do is plug in the device and connect the cables.

  1. Find a good place for the adapter.
Place the adapter near your modem. As with most electronic equipment, pick a place that has good air circulation, so it won't get too hot.

  2. Connect cords and cables.
Plug one end of your Ethernet cable into the Internet port on the back of the adapter and the other end into an Ethernet port on the back of your modem. Then insert a standard telephone cable into the Phone 1 port and plug the other end of the cable into your touch-tone telephone or cordless phone base.

  3. Power up your Connected Voice adapter.
Connect the power adapter to the Power port on the back of the Connected Voice adapter and plug it in. The "POWER" light on the front of the Connected Voice adapter should light up.

  4. Let the adapter self-configure.
Your Connected Voice adapter will now automatically self-configure to work with your Connected Voice service.

Important Note: The configuration process can take up to 15 minutes. Do not unplug or restart the adapter while any of the lights are flashing. This could cause damage and break it.

The configuration process is complete when the lights for "POWER", "INTERNET" and "PHONE1" on the front of the Connected Voice adapter are all solid green. After this, you can begin using your service.
