Use this set-up and activation guide to get started with your new digital phone service.
Connected Voice comes in two versions: Basic and Professional. There are different set-up instructions for each. As a Small Business customer, it's likely you have the Professional version. Choose your version below to see how to get set up, then read on for instructions that are the same for both versions:
Check that you received all of the equipment:
Connected Voice will only work with phones that are connected to your internet service. Any phones plugged into a standard phone jack will not work with Connected Voice.
The Connected Voice Polycom phone will automatically self-configure after it's connected to your CenturyLink internet service. All you need to do is plug in the phone and connect the cables in these four steps:
Important Note: The configuration process could take up to 15 minutes. Do not unplug or restart the phone while any of the lights are flashing during this initial boot up and configuration phase. This could cause it to malfunction.
Check to see that you received this equipment:
Connected Voice will only work for phones that are directly connected to the Connected Voice adapter.
We recommend that you use cordless phones with your Connected Voice service. Connect the adapter to the cordless handset base station and distribute the remote handsets throughout your business as shown below.
Any phones that were connected to wall jacks will not work with your Connected Voice service.
The Connected Voice adapter will automatically self-configure after it's connected to your CenturyLink internet service. All you need to do is plug in the device and connect the cables.

The configuration process is complete when the lights for "POWER", "INTERNET" and "PHONE1" on the front of the Connected Voice adapter are all solid green. After this, you can begin using your service.
You can find your Connected Voice phone number a couple of ways:
Your Connected Voice service will not work in the event of a power outage unless you you have a battery backup. Learn more about battery backups.
