FAQs: CenturyLink Fiber moved to Quantum Fiber

In October 2025, your CenturyLink fiber internet service became Quantum Fiber internet. Quantum Fiber is our premier technology with unlimited data, no annual contracts, and a trusted, 99.9% reliable network based on network uptime or availability.

Overview

Quantum Fiber specializes in fiber-optic internet service and CenturyLink is the provider of reliable non-fiber internet and phone services.

Quantum Fiber, a related brand to CenturyLink, is your provider of fiber-optic internet service. This means that you are invoiced by and pay Quantum Fiber for your internet service, rather than CenturyLink.

If you had additional services such as Static IP, Personal TechPro or Inside Wire Protection with CenturyLink, those products have been removed from your account, as they are not available with Quantum Fiber. If you had one of these services, we adjusted your monthly charges when we sent an order confirmation from CenturyLink with your new monthly pricing.

If you need to review your account or make changes to your service, use the Quantum Fiber app or the online account management portal. Instructions for getting started with the app and portal have been emailed to you.

You keep your current monthly service rate for fiber-optic internet and the same due date for your monthly payment. With the exception of PayPal, the payment method you had on file with CenturyLink carried over to your new Quantum Fiber account. If you used PayPal as your CenturyLink payment method, you need to re-establish PayPal with Quantum Fiber or change to a different payment method. If you were enrolled in a CenturyLink fiber speed under 100 Mbps you were upgraded to up to 100 Mbps of Quantum Fiber internet at the same rate that you paid CenturyLink. Finally, you will continue to use the same internet equipment. There is no need to make changes or return anything at this time.

CenturyLink and Quantum Fiber are two separate companies but are both part of the Lumen Technologies family. CenturyLink focuses on reliable phone and internet services, while Quantum Fiber is a premium provider of fiber-optic internet service.

You were not required to fill out a form or sign any documents. Your continued use of your internet service indicates your acceptance of the Quantum Fiber service agreement.

We’d hate to see you go; however, you can cancel your service at any time. You are not locked into an annual contract and there are no penalties or termination fees for cancelling.

No. If you were enrolled in a CenturyLink for Life plan for your internet service, the price protection it provided for your monthly internet service rate remains unchanged by this transition.

It’s important to remember that the protection will be removed if you make any changes to your service, plan, or account, including a change of address or fail to stay in good standing. Other rates, fees, and charges on your account, including leased equipment, may increase and are not protected.

Billing & Payment

With the exception of PayPal, the payment method you had on file with CenturyLink carried over to your new Quantum Fiber account. If you used PayPal for your CenturyLink account, you need to re-establish PayPal on your new Quantum Fiber account (or change to a different payment method). Your payment due date remains the same as it was with CenturyLink. You will keep your current internet service monthly rate and current discounts.

After your internet service has been moved to Quantum Fiber you can make changes to your payment method using the portal. You will need to do this if you used PayPal to pay your CenturyLink account. Look for a Welcome to Quantum Fiber email, with a link to set up your new password and complete your Quantum Fiber account setup. The email address you had with CenturyLink became your Quantum Fiber username.

Account Management

No action was required on your part.

Once your internet service was moved to Quantum Fiber you should have received an email with information to create your new Quantum Fiber account. Check your spam folder if you don’t see this email. After your Quantum Fiber account has been created you can manage your service either online by signing in at QuantumFiber.com or in the Quantum Fiber app.
