CenturyLink is expanding fiber-optic networks across the nation and around the globe, so it's easier now than ever before to upgrade and get a fast, reliable fiber connection. Whether you love streaming movies, uploading videos or playing video games, you can do more of it with fiber internet.
Here's how to get started with CenturyLink Fiber Internet.
CenturyLink Fiber service is currently available in a number of cities and towns, and is actively expanding with network upgrades that will deliver fiber internet services across a growing list of locations.
To see if you can get fiber internet now in your area, click the link below and enter your street address. We will show you the options for internet service at your location, including fiber service, if available.
If fiber is available in your area, select a plan and go through the steps or order your new service or service upgrade.
Once determining that fiber internet is available in your area, existing customers please call us to order an upgrade. This allows our customer service team to update your account correctly and ensure a smooth transition from your current services to fiber.
To access the fiber-optic network, you’ll need to have a high-speed internet router (also called a “gateway”).
Please note that even if you already have a router, it may not be compatible with the network because of the unique nature of fiber-optic technology. For a high-quality connection and optimal speed and performance, we strongly recommend ordering a CenturyLink certified gateway that’s purpose-built for fiber internet. Your customer service representative will be able to advise you of the best choice when you order your new service.
Once you’ve ordered your fiber internet service and router, the last step is installation.
When you order Fiber, CenturyLink will schedule an installation appointment.
Your one-time installation fee includes connecting our fiber-optic network to your home and ensuring the connection to your router is successfully established.
Once your fiber connection has been set up inside your house, you can begin connecting your devices to the super high speed of fiber internet — then dive in!
