Turn User Intercept on and off

As a SIMPLE administrator, you can add a default or custom greeting to let callers know a number is not in service and direct them to another phone number.

Note: This feature is turned on by default; you only need to turn it on if you have turned it off.

To inform callers the number is no longer in service, you need to keep the User Intercept feature on.

To turn off User Intercept or to turn it back on:

  1. Click the User Intercept tab.
  1. User Intercept defaults to "on"; to turn it off, change the toggle to "off."

To turn User Intercept back on, change the toggle to "on" and continue the steps below.
  1. From the Incoming Calls list, select Intercept incoming calls.
  1. Select the type of announcement you want to use by doing one of the following:

    • To play a system-generated message that says the number is not in service, select the Default Announcement radio button.

    • To play a custom announcement you create, select the Custom Announcement radio button, and then click on the upload icon to add a WAV file.
  1. User Intercept for Outgoing Calls is currently not supported.
  1. Click Save.
