Understanding how AutoPay works

AutoPay is a secure, easy and convenient way to pay your bill.

You just tell us that you want to pay your bill automatically, and we will debit your bank account or credit card in the amount owed on your CenturyLink bill each month. Your bill is always paid on time, without you having to worry about it.

It's quick to sign up, and it's also easy to cancel AutoPay if you decide it's not for you.

Once you sign up for AutoPay, the automatic payments will start on your next billing cycle and you can cross one more thing off your to-do list!

Methods of payment accepted for AutoPay

With AutoPay, you can use these forms of payment:

  • Checking account
  • Savings account
  • Credit card (VISA, MasterCard or Discover)
  • Debit card
  • Money market account (in some areas)

If you enter your payment information today and need to update it later, you can.

Note: There are no credit card fees associated with AutoPay.

What is your payment date with AutoPay?

Exactly when AutoPay payments occur each month depends on several factors, including where you live and which payment method you're using.

For credit or debit cards, you can expect to see that charge 18 days after your bill date.

For bank accounts, you can expect to have your CenturyLink payment electronically deducted from your designated checking, savings or money market account 14 days after your bill date.

Please note:  The "bill date" is not the due date for your bill, but the date it was issued. You can find this date at the top of the bill.

Things to know

  • AutoPay will start on your next billing cycle. Keep paying your bill normally until you see a message in My CenturyLink or on your bill indicating AutoPay is taking care of your payments automatically.
  • You cannot currently change your AutoPay payment date. It is based on your billing date.
