How to power cycle (reboot) your modem

NOTE:  "Power cycle" simply means to turn a device OFF and then back ON. We can also call this "reboot" or "restart."

To power cycle your modem:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the modem. Make sure you have unplugged the correct cord by checking that all the lights on the modem are OFF.
  2. Wait for 1 minute. Plug the power cord back into the modem.
  3. Wait for the power light and internet light to turn green.
  4. Try connecting to the internet.

Rebooting your modem can often fix internet connection problems, improve slow connections and resolve wireless issues.
